What is talent? Do you feel deeply inferior because you feel you have no talent? This book is told in the form of two timelines intertwining the past and the present, divided into the "past" in 1999 when the protagonist Minori went to college and the "present" from 2019 to 2020. Through Minori's perspective, he tells various stories about what happened to his nephew, grandfather, and friends in the university club, and explores what "talent" really is. Minori has been stuck in a whirlpool of self-doubt for the first half of her life. She envied her friends who had meaningful and challenging jobs, but she was frustrated and unable to recover. Minori has always been overwhelmed by the talents of others, and has come to the conclusion that she has no talents, and has a very low self-esteem. But after learning about her grandfather's story, Minori finally discovered that the so-called talent is something that varies from person to person. It is ever-changing and has no fixed form. It requires everyone to actively search and explore throughout their lives, rather than simply defining it as having or not having it.
