About This Novel
The novel uses the growth experiences of Liu Mei and Liu Song, the sons and daughters of Liu Baozhong, a winemaker from Tianyoude, as clues to reproduce the real life, social scene, humanistic history and customs of the Tianyoude Winery and Weiyuanbao, a small town famous for its highland barley wine, under the rule of the Ma Bufang family in the early 1930s. The author cuts in from the side of Tianyoude Winery, places the protagonists in a large era background, and shapes their images. Therefore, Tianyoude's own changes and the fate of the characters are intertwined with the entire era. Although they calculate, pursue, fight, and struggle for their own destiny, they are still unable to escape from the cruel social reality.
