About This Novel
"The Bonfire of Others" is a new novel by Alati Asmu. The story takes place in Ili in northern Xinjiang and Hotan in southern Xinjiang. The protagonists are "I" and two translator friends. "We" at the wine table are the iron triangle that can start brainstorming at any time. In the witty words and the collision of ideas, the character traits and wisdom of the Uyghur people are flashed. The jade merchant in the novel, as a clue and background, is related to other characters in the story, and through the words and deeds of these characters, it shows the good and evil, repentance and redemption of human nature. The greatest feature of this novel lies in its way of expression, "showing one's spiritual world to readers in an unvarnished roughness and frankness."
