About This Novel
In the 1930s, in the Zhuangyuanfang area of Guangzhou, there were clusters of costume shops, and there were flower men and embroiderers all over the streets. The craftsman Chen Dou Sheng is the head of the famous "Han Ji" in Guangzhou Zhuangyuanfang. He has a son and a daughter at his knees: Shuren and Cuifeng. Relying on a craft, the family clings to each other, and the years are peaceful, warm and loving. However, outside this small home, there are the turbulence of the big times: wars, air raids, escapes... No matter how the times change, "Hanji" takes "precision workmanship" as its foundation, survives and is passed down. Use craftsmanship that is more eternal than time to brew the beauty of objects and the depth of human feelings. The novel takes the fate of four generations of the Chen family as the main line, tells the story of the rise and fall of an industry, and reproduces the life of Guangzhou citizens for nearly a century.
