With a Crying Dog
About This Novel
The rental house where Huijun lives is in a courtyard on the southern edge of the city. It used to be a rural area, but it became urbanized after the city expanded. The floors there are not very high. Most of them are two- and three-story buildings built by the locals themselves. There are seven or eight houses on each floor. Walk along an east-west alley for about 40 meters to reach the courtyard. The yard is not small. Although there are some tricycles, trolleys, small stoves and other things scattered here and there, there is still a lot of open space. A red wall surrounded the small building tightly. What impressed Huijun the most about this yard was the grape trellis on the south side of the yard, which was lush and green in summer.
