Go to Oak Mountain
by Chen Xi
About This Novel
"The trees in the forest are guarded by Hengdeer" (from "Zuo Zhuan"). The heroine Gu Youshu in the book is the Hengdeer guard, guarding the peachland-like Oak Mountain for generations. There are sacred trees in the mountains that are as permanent as heaven and earth. There are humans, some non-humans, and some gods. Gu Youshu, under the order of the Great Oak God, traveled around the world for many years, running a worldly business with a worldly mind. The work records Gu Youshu's growth process. She went from evading responsibility, to passively accepting her fate, to taking the initiative, taking Oak Mountain and the world as her own responsibility. The most valuable thing about Gu Youshu is that she has a normal heart, so she sees no distinction between high and low. She can save non-human beings (ghosts) and subordinates at the expense of her own life, and restore Oak Mountain's original face of equality.
