About This Novel

A lonely city-state in the tropical rainforest of Central America, a song of love and death that blends myth and fable. The novel was written by mythologist Zhu Dake over a period of eight years. Selected as one of the top ten best books of 2022 by Asia Weekly. In the tropical rainforest of Central America at the end of the 17th century, a mysterious tribe from the "Yin Di" thrived here for three thousand years and evolved into a circular city "Tizok" that was independent from the world and driven by a perpetual motion machine. It survived under the rule of the high priest. Quetzalcoatl uses his earthly incarnation as a family that spreads love, and through the miracles of birth and death, tries to save this self-rotating lonely city-state and help it escape the fate of tyranny and destruction. In the novel, the origin of American culture is defined as ancient Chinese civilization, which is full of allegorical qualities.
