About This Novel
This is a story told by an undead that happened in a civilian home in the south. It is the story of a traditional Chinese family. The story takes place from the 1960s to the 1980s. Su Tong said: "I wrote about a crying ghost. He didn't know why he was suffering this way. Later, he didn't want to care about the affairs of the world. He went to hell, leaving greater loneliness to others, to me, to all of us... So I wrote "The Bodhisattva Man"." This is Su Tong's novel with the characteristics of magical realism.
