"Doctor Zhivago" is a novel by the Soviet writer Pasternak. It describes the story of the Russian doctor Zhivago, his wife Tonya, and the beautiful female nurse Lalisa. It is considered to be an autobiographical work. By describing Dr. Zhivago's personal experiences, the novel shows another aspect of Russia's two revolutions and two wars from a completely new perspective, embodying the cruelty of war and the ruthlessness of destruction. "Doctor Zhivago" spans about half a century and describes more than 60 characters from all walks of life who were active in the above-mentioned historical time and space, expressing their complex emotions and their thoughts on the times during the historical changes. The whole book is a review of the Russian history in the early 20th century by the author from a unique perspective in the post-war years, and covers his reflections on this historical process. The author won the Nobel Prize for Literature.
