Dark Thorn
About This Novel
"Stab in Darkness" was written five years after "Sins of the Father" was completed, when Matthew Scudder was still an alcoholic and had not yet joined Alcoholics Anonymous. Nine years ago, a crazy ice pick killer stabbed several women in a row and then disappeared. Nine years later, the New York police caught this man by chance. He admitted to all other cases but firmly denied Barbara's death. Barbara's father seeks out Scudder, hoping to find out who killed his daughter. "Memory is a cooperative animal that is very willing to please you. If the supply is not timely, it can often invent one on the spot and then carefully fill in the blanks." This book won the Shamus Award for Novel in 1982.

Well written, hope to continue working hard
Nine years ago, an icepick killer killed many women. Nine years later, he was finally arrested by the police. However, he denied the murder of Barbara Eyenger and always said that he was not the murderer of Barbara. Now Barbara Eyenger's father found Scudder and asked him to help find the murderer.
Donald Gilman is a lawyer. Scudder went to him and explained the reason. Donald Gilman was a little doubtful. He had caught the murderer. Why was he still looking for the murderer? Scudder explained the reason. It turned out that the Ice Ridge Thief was not the murderer.
It was determined that the suspect, the Ice Pick Thief, killed Barbara Eyenger because her eyes were blinded. However, Barbara Eyenger's injuries were much smaller than those of the other eight women, which proved that she was not killed by the robber, but by someone else.
