About This Novel

The book begins with a fable and describes the mutation of a beautiful village. Through sufficient scientific argumentation and a large number of examples, it is shown that the situation caused by DDT (pesticide) actually occurs in various parts of the United States. The biological chain from land to ocean, from plankton to fish and birds, to humans, has been destroyed. "Silent Spring" describes "invisible" pollution and visible problems. The authors call for biological control methods to replace chemical control of insects. As soon as this book was published, it caused a huge response and sounded the clarion call for the environmental movement around the world. Former U. S. Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore described this book as a landmark work.
