About This Novel

Kerim watched his mother walk out of the door step by step. The mother's expression was strange. She was basically half-walking, half-stepping back, moving step by step. He looked around and moved to the gate, then turned back and looked doubtfully. He seemed to be checking to see what his son was doing and whether he showed any signs of getting up. Kerim didn't get up. Just before his mother turned around, he lowered his head, as if aware of it, and cast his gaze into an earthen jar, watching intently. Around me, the ground was filled with sunshine and warm. A few black ants were spinning in the sunshine, as if they were being burned by such a strong sun. They were dizzy and couldn't find their way home, so they were spinning around in a hurry. Kerim saw a large ant climb onto the jar and circle around the mouth of the jar.
