About This Novel
Wang Xiaowen, office secretary of the County Agriculture Bureau, and Liu Chaoqian, chief of the Science and Technology Section of the County Science and Technology Association, are used to rushing to work at work and have the habit of getting up early. They have been working in Lipo Village for seven or eight months. They usually get up at around six o'clock. After getting up, they have nothing to do, so they go for a walk outside the village. Lipo Village is relatively remote from the county and township. There is only a simple road leading to the township government. Since the three-eye bridge over Chestnut Creek has not yet been completed, cars entering and exiting the village have to run on the creek beach for a while. But this place has beautiful mountains and clear waters and fresh air. They walked along the cement canal at the entrance of the village and passed the rice fields in front of the village. Not far away, they saw an almost-completed branch canal winding around the mountain pass. Wu Jincai, the village party secretary, sat alone in front of the newly built branch canal and smoked dry cigarettes silently. The two walked over and greeted Wu Zhishu.
