I didn't like the first person version, so I gave up on the article after reading a few chapters...
If nothing else, just a few sentences of introduction. To put it bluntly, women in the 1950s were really humble. They had no status at all. Marriage was indeed arranged, so it was very difficult. After all, if you don't like someone you hate, you have to marry even if your parents like it. It's very humble.
The novel is quite good and the characters have distinct personalities. The problem is that it is too rigid. Both the tone of speaking and inner activities are extremely rigid. After reading them all, I could only complain about them.
I particularly like period articles, but in the first chapter I found that the first person was used, which felt a bit autobiographical, so I decided to abandon the article and got used to writing in the third person. I felt that the first person was so depressing😅😅😅
