Nothing new
Every time I see this kind of novel, the protagonist is working as a government agent or joining the government court. The Zhao Guangyuan who invited the protagonist couldn't be a prince or heir apparent!
I read the first few lines and was not in the mood to read any more, because I could guess the result, but I still give you a suggestion. Change the previous words. Don't kill to conquer the road. Kill for the sake of strength. This is how monsters are described in literature, but the protagonist is still in your hands. As for the so-called lowest level of human morality, you can try to follow your logic and use your imagination to add a soul to this character without your control. Use God's perspective to see the direction of the protagonist. Is it adhering to human morality, or is it using all means to become stronger?
