Selected Works of Li Chengjun (part 2)
by Li Chengjun
About This Novel
Li Chengjun is a native and successful cultural figure in Macao. For more than half a century, he has run newspapers, written, and lectured. He has traveled among newspaper people, writers, and social activists. He has rich newspaper running practices and theories, is committed to promoting the creation and development of Macao literature, and has written many critical articles on literature and art. His three works, "The Collection of Waiting", "Essays on Ye Weiyang Tower" and "Times Are Like Poems" compiled many years ago, as well as a large number of scattered works, have had a certain influence on society. Li Chengjun's works have distinctive characteristics of the times and a strong flavor of Macao, and have iconic significance for the times and the region. Unfortunately, it has been many years since the three separate volumes of his works were published, and now it is difficult to get a full picture. Now his works have been reorganized and arranged into a relatively systematic anthology and published in two volumes: upper and lower volumes. The first volume is mainly about current commentaries and political commentaries, while the second volume is about his literary criticism, friendship between teachers and friends, and anecdotes about the art world. The purpose of this arrangement is to allow readers to have a more comprehensive understanding of Li Chengjun and his writings, and then to understand the context of Macao's recent and modern local culture and some trajectories of social development.
