Tricorn Hat
by (western) Duke Bertro Andonio De Allar
About This Novel
"The Three-cornered Hat" is based on an ancient Spanish ballad folktale, which tells the story of the entanglement between a governor and his wife and a miller and his wife. "The Three-cornered Hat" has an unshakable place among the longer short stories in literary history. It is a powerfully objective work, without the shadow of self-consciousness. In short, it is a well-told story that deserves praise. In addition to its purely aesthetic value, this book is a valuable document useful in learning the history of traditional Spanish customs. The work has been translated into other languages several times and rewritten as a comic opera for the stage at least four times. The most recent one is the ballet of the same name adapted by the 20th century Spanish music master Fayas.
