You Lost Her Like This
About This Novel
This book contains nine short stories about lost love, most of which have been published in The New Yorker and some of which are the author's first published works. Yunio, a bookworm with a grassroots background, deals with various girls. They fall in love and fall out of love. In the repeated collisions of greed, carelessness and perverse sensitivity, Yunio becomes depressed, insomniac, and falls into despair. Finally, he writes the sincere confession of a cheating lover: the half-life of love is forever. Diaz wrote about the destruction and salvation of love with passionate writing, including love and family affection, but also loyalty and betrayal. This book is a finalist for the National Book Award, and was also selected into the annual best book lists of mainstream media such as The New York Times Book Review and Publishers Weekly.
