About This Novel

Cotton was introduced to my country from Java in the Song Dynasty. It was once called Jibei, which is the transliteration of Malay. Huang Daopo in the Yuan Dynasty had mastered a complete set of textile technologies. Xu Guangqi in the Ming Dynasty wrote a famous "Jibei Shu" to emphasize the importance of cotton. After the Industrial Revolution in Europe, the textile industry developed rapidly and landed in China at the beginning of the 20th century. In the 1930s and 1940s, the modern textile industry in Shanghai (Shanghai), Qing (dao), and Tian (jin) began to take shape. However, cotton spinning in the North China Plain still stayed at the level of Huang Daopo. Southern Hebei Province has sandy soil and long sunshine, which is suitable for growing cotton. Its output accounts for more than 40% of the country's total, and it is a famous "cotton nest".
