About This Novel

The long historical novel "The Great Western Region" includes two companion volumes. "The Vast Silk Road" is the first one. It mainly tells the story of the rise of the Huns in the northern part of the Central Plains at the end of the Qin Dynasty and the beginning of the Han Dynasty, threatening the Central Plains dynasty. Until Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty came to the throne, Zhang Qian was ordered to go to the Western Regions, hoping to contact the Yuezhi people to attack the Xiongnu and relieve the Han Dynasty's border troubles. After going through hardships and narrow escapes on the way, he finally opened the Silk Trade Road between the Central Plains and the Western Regions.
