About This Novel
Qi Junzao, the protagonist of "Heaven, Earth and People", is a famous minister and prime minister in the late Qing Dynasty. He started his education at the age of four and entered a private school at the age of six. He has a photographic memory of his reading and is known as a child prodigy. He was a Jinshi at the age of twenty-two, and had served as a bachelor and chief military minister (first grade). He was a famous poet and calligrapher at that time and wrote nearly 3,000 poems in his life. He also wrote the ancient agricultural treatise "Mashou Nongyan". He composed a legendary story of Chinese literati based on his experiences as "three generations of emperors" and "four dynasties of civil servants" in the Qing Dynasty. During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, 17-year-old Qi Junzao was talented. After experiencing a sudden family crisis, he began to think about the serious issue of how to be a human being and how to be a scholar. By following Zhang Guanli, the young Qi Junzao established his life beliefs of "putting the people first", "contributing to the emperors Yao and Shun", and "making the people well-off", returned to the "scientific examination", and finally won the gold list. When the Qing Dynasty came to an end, Qi Junzao personally executed his brother-in-law, a corrupt official whom he regarded as his flesh and blood. In the political turmoil filled with secret assassinations, he used his life to protect his "imperial criminal" brother-in-law who was a sympathizer for him. Deep in his heart, he treasured the love of his life. As a scholar and scholar-official, Qi Junzao devoted all his life, love, family affection and wealth to his political ideas, but what he valued more was the "Tao". This "Tao" is exactly the "Tao" pursued by good ministers and literati with lofty ideals in the world. This is the "Heaven, Earth and People's Heart"!
