About This Novel
This is a historical novel by Shklovsky. Based on Marco Polo's own travel notes and a large number of real historical materials, Shi did his best to develop his literary imagination of the Silk Road. He used Marco Polo's life experience and Silk Road culture as the starting point, and used a combination of documentary and commentary to give a detailed description of Marco Polo's personal experiences and Eastern culture. By telling the encounters and experiences of Marco Polo, his father and uncle during their journey to the East, it not only describes Marco Polo's troubled life, but also reproduces the political and economic development conditions of countries along the Silk Road, especially China and other Eastern countries, reflects the social life and customs of each country, and restores the historical features of the Silk Road to a certain extent.
