About This Novel
"Mengsheng" tells the story of a love-hate relationship between Lu Mengsheng, a young man from Yimeng area in Shandong Province, and Tian Yuzhen, the daughter of Tian Yuzhen, the daughter of the secretary of the same village, before and after the reform and opening up in 1978. They overcame all obstacles to free love and shared their youth with young people in the village and those who went to the countryside in Liujiacun. Young people's desire for the new era and their persistence in the promises they made to each other made their love intertwined with the changes of the years in the torrent of reform and opening up, composing a Yimeng version of the "Symphony of Destiny" - "Yimeng Mountain Minor".
