A Sour Pear Tree and a Storm
by Sun Chunping
About This Novel
The construction of Qin Jiancheng's home started at dawn. The rooster had crowed twice, but there was still darkness between heaven and earth, and the whole village was still sleeping quietly. The pheasants and other birds in the forest outside the village are like children in sleep, and from time to time they make one or two murmurs or cries that seem to be awake but not awake. It is the time of year when the days are the longest and the nights are the shortest. The quartz clock on the north wall has not yet reached three o'clock, but after two more cigarettes, it will be dawn. The lights in the main room were all on, and the light poured out from the window, reflecting a bright light in the yard. Qin Jiancheng's brother came, his nephew came, and his daughter and son-in-law also came. The young man was greedy for sleep and yawned constantly.
