Letters from Nara to the East
by Mumu
About This Novel
A Tuo, a young man who has been forced to wander around since childhood, suddenly received a letter from Japan one day, inviting him back to attend his stepfather's funeral. After much hesitation, he returned home to Japan dragging his body, which had been diagnosed by doctors as incurable. At this point, he embarks on a journey of search - looking for the meaning of his birth and the reason why his mother abandoned him and committed suicide. Because he had been living a life of fear, dependence on others, and traveling to many countries since his childhood, Atuo developed serious psychological problems. He was pessimistic, world-weary, anorexic, and had no love for life. However, after reuniting with his stepfather's sons Naoki and Koya, who were not related by blood, he felt the strong family affection that he had always longed for, and let go of the past.
