The introduction is so cruel

I finished reading these two novels a long time ago. Because the love is so humble and the plot is so heart-wrenching, I cried while reading them unintentionally. So I was deeply impressed. I have finished watching both parts, but I didn't expect that the heroine Xia Zhixin of the second part is actually the mother of Xia You, the heroine of the first part. Her mother was much more miserable than her, and she was not happy in the end, but her daughter was finally happy. It's so cruel, so sad, but so beautiful!
Why do I think the female lead is so mean and yet I like the second male lead so much?
I was surprised at how many truths were revealed in the end. The heroine was crazy and humble in love. Duan Muyun and Xia Zhixin must be living very well.
If Lin Guodong had known earlier what Xia Zhixin had done for him, and if Duanmu Yun's love for her was not so extreme, maybe Xia Zhixin could live a very happy life now.
