Fragments of the Republic of China: Warlords
by Li Chuchu
About This Novel
In the troubled times of the Republic of China, heroes emerged in large numbers. This was an era rich in warlords. They held their own troops and separated themselves from each other. They were like meteors, suddenly streaking across the chaotic sky, leaving their own unique marks on the curtain of time. They were like wildfires, burning on the grassland of history, illuminating that rough life. The warlords of the Republic of China can be divided into factions: the Beiyang Clan, the Anhui Clique, the Zhili Clan, the Fengcian Clan, the Northwest Clique, etc. All of them had heavy troops and separated themselves into kings. In 1911, when the Revolution of 1911 overthrew the Qing Dynasty, these warlords began to appear bustling on the big stage of the Republic of China. You sing and I appear, each leading the way for three to five years.
