Nagai Daisuke is a "superfluous man" without a fixed occupation. He lives by asking his parents or brothers for money. After graduating from college, I still haven't settled down or found a job at the age of thirty. When he was young, he had a negative attitude towards everything, and once gave up his beloved Michiyo to his friend Hiraoka. However, Michiyo was not happy after marrying Hiraoka, and a child she gave birth to died soon after. After Hiraoka failed in his career, he returned to Tokyo from Osaka, and Machiyo came to ask for help and borrow money. Daisuke's love for Michiyo has not disappeared.
