Green Snake (starring Joey Wang and Maggie Cheung)
by Li Bihua
About This Novel
This book contains Li Bihua's classic novels "Green Snake", "Qin Terracotta Warriors" and "The Tempting Monk", all of which have been adapted into movies, directed by famous directors such as Tsui Hark, starring Maggie Cheung, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Joey Wong, Gong Li, Chen Chong, Zhang Fengyi, Ge You and other famous actors. They have won many awards at the Hong Kong Film Awards, Taiwan Golden Horse Awards, etc. The three novels are based on the background of historical legends, deriving a series of strange stories full of love, lust, and hatred. The plots are twists and turns, and boldly subvert tradition with gorgeous, sharp, unconventional, and deviant writing. Through the narration of the entanglements between men and women, they reveal the complex and rich spiritual world of the characters, and incorporate the implications of aesthetic philosophy, which is very tense and soul-stirring.

I think Li Bihua's novels are quite good. Although she is "the first person in Chinese romance", I think her novels are different from ordinary romance novels. Her novels are wild and unconstrained, her imagination seems to be inexhaustible, and the sentences in the novel are also very touching. Unfortunately, I never understand why this writer is not very popular and not many people know about her.
The writing is almost demonic, the wisdom is holy
The stories that have nothing to do with me, other people's sad histories, and the glories in the books. Really, what sounds good?
What did the donor drop into the mortal world? Is it silver? ...The smarter the person, the more 'greedy' he is. If you get sex and want money, that is greed; if you love one person and then another, that is greed, and it is a serious sin.
Love is either too hungry or too full. Either lose everything or win everything
"Perhaps under every smashed cultural relic, there is also an infatuated demon suppressed!"
Those tender vows, those romances, those raindrops and tears, those "loves" turned out to be because of childishness
When closed, it is a dense net and a faint tower; when opened, it is a life of flesh and blood.
Li Bihua is a talented writer. His works are not only watchable, but also deeply thought-provoking.
I have always cherished Zhang Ailing and Li Bihua. I can only say that their numbers all have a feeling that makes people dare not to recall and not think too much about them. I like them very much. I have seen too much and I don't believe that love is useful to me.
