About This Novel

This is the story of John Singer, a lonely deaf-mute who takes place in a small town in the Deep South. A group of people completely different from him were attracted by his kindness and approached his life in advance: the owner of a coffee shop that Singer visited every day, a young girl who desperately wanted to grow up, an angry alcoholic, a frustrated black doctor - everyone poured their hearts into this common silent confidant, and he in turn changed their respective disillusioned lives in unimaginable ways.
