Bodhisattva: a Story About Youth and Remembrance
About This Novel
"Wood Spirit" is a novel with an autobiographical nature by the famous Japanese writer Kitafu, winner of the Ryunosuke Akutagawa Prize. It is regarded as the sequel to his debut novel "Ghost". A Japanese psychiatrist who studied in Germany came to a distant foreign country to say goodbye to a past relationship. He traveled around the Danube River Basin, the mountains of Tyrol and the towns of Northern Europe, with sweet memories of his old love in his heart. During the journey, he followed the example of Thomas Mann and determined to become a writer. However, facing the uncertain future, uneasiness and hesitation still lingered in his heart, and his lover named Lunzi still followed him all the way... With the keen observation of an insect lover, the prudence of a psychiatrist and the fresh and humorous writing style of a writer, Beidoff wrote a tender growth diary.
