About This Novel
Eileen Chang devoted her last ten years to studying "A Dream of Red Mansions". In 1969, Eileen Chang published "A Dream of Red Mansions Unfinished" in Taiwan; in 1973, "A Preliminary Study of the Dream of Red Mansions" was published in a Taiwanese magazine; in 1975, she completed the English translation of "Flowers of the Red Chamber". "Biography" and "Two Details of a Dream in Red Mansions" were published in Taiwan; in 1976, "Three Details of a Dream in Red Mansions" was published in Taiwan; later, the entire "Three Details" were rewritten, and the writing continued. In 1977, "A Nightmare in Red Mansions" was published by Taiwan Crown Publishing House.
