About This Novel
The story takes place in 19th-century Norway. A pair of adult sisters live in a village with a strong religious atmosphere. They are willing to give up secular emotions for their religious beliefs. Later, they took in Babette, a female refugee from France. Babette was lucky enough to receive a huge bonus from France. In order to repay the kind-hearted sisters, she specially prepared a rich dinner for them and the villagers. From the time she came to the village to the dinner, the whole village began to slowly change.
