Homeless Home
About This Novel
A magnificent and gorgeous Dutch house is the home of childhood and the starting point of pain. I was only 15 when my sister Maeve and I were evicted from Holland House after my father died. From then on, all we relied on was each other. In the past 50 years, even though we seem to be increasingly successful and happy, pain remains with us; those memories of laughter and tears that have been told thousands of times are like vines wrapped around our hearts. All we can do is to return to the Dutch House again and again and look at it from a distance: as if everything still exists inside, as if nightmares are not a standard part of life. Until an unexpected person appears again, until we are finally reunited in the Dutch House... Does what I want be lost and found?
