The Secret of Her Life
About This Novel
The female writer who has created a sales miracle in the southern hemisphere has swept the best-selling novel lists in many countries in the northern hemisphere. There are as many secrets in a century as there are in a woman. She thought she would spend her life cleverly in secret, but she was wrong, secrets will always find an outlet. Sixteen-year-old Laurel is hiding in a tree house and thinking about the future, but this afternoon will become a shadow that will forever linger in her future life - she will witness a murder, which is related to her mother. Fifty years on, secrets have remained secrets, but when a photo emerges, Laurel must piece together the truth about her mother's changing fate. As Laurel gets deeper into her mother's inner turmoil, the friendships, loves, escapes and adventures of more than half a century ago begin to be resurrected one by one.

I read this book carelessly. The energy of the words is still there, and the energy of constructing the story is still there, but I have lost the tension and excitement when I first read the author's other novels. Like a tired couple, they relied on inertia to finish reading this book. I really hate Tao'er, the author's tendency is so well hidden.
