About This Novel
My parents are both in their seventies, and both are in poor health. For fear of dragging down their children, parents do not want to follow any of their children and still insist on working in the fields. Whenever I think of it, I blame myself and my heart aches. As the eldest son, he didn't show much filial piety. It is in this self-blame that I gain the strength to move forward. I may not achieve much in my life, but I always want my parents to see my wonderful life. This may be the parents' wish and comfort. I work hard and miss you. Really, whenever I gain something in life, whenever it's quiet at night, whenever I feel lonely and lost, whenever the Spring Festival comes, I miss home and my parents in the countryside. The countryside is my root, my home is my root, and my parents are my root. No matter how far I travel, no matter how accomplished I am, home is the harbor of my soul and the destination of my life.
