About This Novel

The "Republic of China Chinese Studies Library" series was originally called "Students' Chinese Studies Library" and was a sub-series of the "Wanyou Library" edited by Wang Yunwu of the Commercial Press in the 1920s and 1930s. In order to highlight its mark of the times, it has been renamed "Republic of China Chinese Studies Library" and is dedicated to the vast number of Chinese studies enthusiasts. The original series had a total of 60 categories. Taking into account factors such as difficulty level, balance of the four volumes, and length, and based on extensive solicitation of expert opinions, it has been reduced to 34 categories and 49 volumes, basically retaining the chapter structure of the original book. There are very few deletions made to suit the current situation. The original text was checked using the general and authoritative version of the full text, and the necessary checks and revisions were made based on the editor's own opinions. For smooth and convenient reading, the source of the edition is not marked one by one. The annotations are based on the structure of the original text, using post-paragraph notes and post-text notes respectively to facilitate readers' convenience.
