Kuyuzhai is the name of Zhou Zuoren's study. In the 1920s and 1930s, a special group of literati was formed with Zhou Zuoren as the core. They are very different from the left-wing intellectuals led by Lu Xun, and also different from the so-called liberal intellectuals represented by Hu Shi. In the form of essays, this book freely, vividly and vividly describes the cultural psychology, value choices, life attitude and social orientation of this group of literati. This book is a revised version of the author's old work. On the basis of the old edition, the author has modified and polished some of the textual expressions, added three chapters, "The Fifth Disciple", "Buddhist Scenery" and "With Lucianos", and deleted the "Postscript".
