About This Novel

At the age of 16, she was called fat by her brother. After losing weight for more than ten years, she was so thin that she could only hang water to survive. At the age of 19, she called the police and claimed that she was being "stalked" by her mother. She could not leave her mother's sight for more than 5 minutes as long as she could remember. At the age of 40, in order to escape from marriage and sneak out of the country, she opened a hot pot restaurant and took in dozens of foreign women who had been domestically abused. I met them when I was 23 years old. Throughout my teenage years, I planned to leave home and escape my mother's control. I chose Australia, but I was always worried that I wouldn't be able to leave. Before the plan could actually come to fruition, my mother died suddenly. I boarded the plane in a daze and began to learn and live in another language in a completely unfamiliar environment until I became a "judicial social worker" and met them. In the process of helping these girls, I gradually understood "why love can make people feel painful", and I finally had the courage to accompany others to find their answers.
