Some people say that the Bible is the best prose in the world. I believe it, but I have not studied the Bible, so I cannot say what is good about it. Some people say that "Historical Records" is the best prose in the world, and I believe it too. Moreover, as a Chinese, I am not completely unfamiliar with "Historical Records". However, due to lack of research, I cannot say what is so good about "Historical Records". However, from what others have said, I can roughly guess that the Bible and Historical Records, as models of prose, should be related to their simple and sincere writing style. This simple and sincere writing style is related to the author's character and personality, that is, their authors are simple and sincere people (not saints but close to saints). This also makes me feel even more that prose is difficult to write and the threshold for writing prose is too high. But I'm not entirely pessimistic either. I still want to continue to try this style of writing. I can learn about my shortcomings through writing, and just think of it as a mirror.
