About This Novel
Yang Xiaozhou, an "all-weather reader", visited many domestic specialty bookstores from 2004 to 2012, and this is a collection of his essays on books. The 29 articles are divided into three series: Beijing bookstores, out-of-town bookstores and art bookstores. Many of the 27 bookstores mentioned in the book have closed down, but from the author's words you can feel the unique sentiments of those disappeared or still existing bookstores. The article also tells the author's leisurely and interesting stories in the process of searching for books, revealing the interest and obsession of book lovers in book hunting. The illustrations in the book are photos taken by the author himself from his private collection of books. He loves books from the inside out, giving them vitality and a touch of fun.
