About This Novel
The protagonist of the story may be the most ill-fated Santa Claus in history. A cruel war is coming, and Santa Claus will be captured alive! How should he get out of this predicament and deliver Christmas gifts to the children? "Although the war is cruel, the novel is warm and touching. Even in the midst of war, the children still have hopes and expectations for Christmas: Evelyn wants dolls, Charlie wants uniforms and small swords, and Bob and Aluan know that their fathers who are in the battlefield cannot come home, but they are still willing to do so. He wishes to help his mother make Christmas gifts for his younger brothers and sisters, and always looks forward to his father's return. What we see in the book is not the pain caused by the war, but love, courage and hope, which glow warmer and brighter in the dark days.
