"Regret" tells the story of Zeng Guangxian who missed the girl who boldly confessed her love to him because of his helplessness and fear; but his extremely active desire caused him to blindfold his eyes and enter the room of the woman he admired. He was falsely accused and imprisoned for doing nothing. However, he gained steadfast love through the bars. But after he was released from prison, everything was still a mirage. Zeng Guangxian regretted every step he took, and regret became his life state. "Regrets" is one of the writer Dongxi's masterpieces. The novel uses Zeng Guangxian's growth as a clue to create an absurd and humorous reading atmosphere, showing the tears and laughter, crying and sadness of a generation's life. "Regrets" won the "Beijing News" 2005 Good Book Literary Book Award. The author won the "2005 Novelist" award at the 4th Chinese Media Festival for this book.

What does it mean? This novel makes me want to punch the male protagonist. Why should I create such a stupid character? Can such a person really live and grow up healthily? And when the male protagonist's parents are still small landowners. I finished reading "Echoes", but I don't want to read this kind of novel again in my life. It feels like a piece of my defense pants.
