This is a long narrative poem and a long novel describing the love and marriage life of young people today. The work reflects the love and marriage dilemmas faced by contemporary rural youth, as well as the constraints imposed on the younger generation by some unspoken local traditional rules and feudal remnants. It also describes the whole process of how a mother enters depression step by step, and how she gets out of depression step by step and regains a sunny life.
