About This Novel

Lu Bicheng, whose original name is Xianxi, also known as Shengyin, Lanqing, and Baolian. She once served as editor of Tianjin's "Ta Kung Pao" and principal of Tianjin Women's Normal School. In 1918, he went to the United States to study at Columbia University. After returning to China, he joined the Nanshe Society in Shanghai. He became a close friend with Qiu Jin, advocated the women's rights movement and opposed feudal autocracy. After middle age, he lived in Europe and the United States and studied Buddhism intensively. He is the author of "Xiaozhu Ci", "Wanderings in Europe and America", "A Brief Introduction to Famous Studies", "Compendium of Literature and History", etc. His poems are clear and bright, and many of them describe exotic customs and new things at that time. They have both the foundation of classical literature and a modern flavor. Mr. Li Baomin has been devoted to the study of Lu Bicheng for a long time. He used "Xiaozhu Ci", which has a relatively complete collection of poems, as the basis, and revised it with Ying Lian's "Collection of Lu's Three Sisters" and other versions. He also referred to hundreds of modern poetry collections and various newspapers and magazines, and added detailed annotations. It has extremely high artistic and academic value.
