About This Novel

This book combines two "interesting little books", "Three Talks on Chinese Literature in the Twentieth Century" (Beijing: People's Literature Publishing House, 1988) and "Man on Culture" (Changsha: Hunan Education Press, 1997). It is a record of the exchange of knowledge and essays between three scholars, Qian Liqun, Huang Ziping, and Chen Pingyuan, from 1985 to 1990. "Three People's Talk" put forward the proposition of "Twentieth Century Chinese Literature", focused on the indivisible integrity of twentieth century Chinese literature, opened up the research pattern of modern, modern and contemporary literature, expanded the research field, and aroused great repercussions in the academic community. "Man on Culture" includes their respective reminiscence articles and the prefaces of each collection, clarifying the editor's unique understanding of "prose" and focusing on highlighting the cultural meaning.
