About This Novel
This book is divided into three parts, including Shen Congwen's classic prose "Xiang Xing Xian Ji", Shen Congwen and his wife Zhang Zhaohe's correspondence "Hunan Xing Xing Biao", and some articles describing his hometown in Shen Congwen's prose. "Journey to Hunan" is known as a classic of modern Chinese prose. The article is based on life in western Hunan and shows Shen Congwen's indescribable sympathy and tenderness for the people in his hometown. "Xiangxing Slips" is the mother version of "Hunan Xingshu", which was not published publicly during the author's lifetime. It was compiled and edited by Shen Huchu in 1991.
