Confucius said: A wise person enjoys water, a benevolent person enjoys mountains; a wise person is active, a benevolent person is still; a wise person is happy, and a benevolent person lives long. Another old saying goes: Taishan does not choose fine soil, so it can reach its height; the sea does not choose small streams, so it can reach its depth. Mountains and water are the eternal themes of Chinese literati. Sing the mountains and rivers, describe the mountains and rivers, feel inspired by the mountains and rivers, and receive education from the mountains and rivers. Landscape is the friend of literati and even more the teacher of those below. But the character of Shanshui is completely different. As Confucius said, the wise enjoy water and the benevolent enjoy mountains. The agility of water gives people wisdom, and the stability of mountains gives people honesty. However, when Chinese literati experience the mountains and rivers, what they feel is not only the agility and sincerity of their appearance, but also the inner spirit reflected from their long-term accumulation and profound accumulation.
