Miscellaneous Notes on Travels in Europe (classic and Pleasant Reading)
by Zhu Ziqing
About This Novel
In August 1931, Zhu Ziqing studied in the UK to study linguistics and English literature. During this period, he traveled to five European countries and wrote several travel notes, which were later collected into the book "Miscellaneous Notes on European Travel", which was published by Kaiming Bookstore in 1934. It contains 10 travel notes and the appendix "Correspondence to the Westward Journey", which records the author's travels and experiences in Venice, Florence, Rome, Berlin, Paris and other places in 1931. These articles mainly describe the scenery, but "some attention was also paid to the words" when describing the scenery. They are exquisitely conceived and combine dynamic and static. At the same time, they embody emotions in the scenery, are natural and true, and reproduce the natural scenery, history and humanities, life and folk customs of Europe in the 1930s. They can be called a model of travel prose. This book is based on the 1934 edition of Kaiming Bookstore, retaining the characteristics of the times and ensuring the original flavor of the work.
