After reading Cat City, I gained a deeper understanding of the people and society during the Republic of China. At the same time, I also reflected on myself. I have no self, I don't know what I want, I live blindly, I have no sense of responsibility to society, the country, my family, etc. Cat City Chronicles satirizes people and social phenomena in real society by satirizing cat people. The book reflects reality with humorous and imaginative words. As a scholar and thinker, Mr. Lao She tries to find solutions for society. The book talks about the different views on the two civilizations, from which I can vaguely feel the civilization he yearned for - different from the capital society that indulges in paper and money, different from the culture of liberalism that disrespects the law, different from the social constraints of using violence to fight violence, different from the people in the feudal families who were harmed by feudal ideas, different from the perfunctory young people, different from the self-proclaimed literati class... In his time, it was impossible to say these words openly, so he used a more obscure way of writing, and he wrote it with sharpness and precision. Looking at it now, it still has a lot of practical significance. These are all foolish short-sightedness, but I am not unhappy about it, so I will briefly express my disdain here.
